District of Columbia Coaster Crew members Chrissy Davenport, Will Holder, Chris Jenkins, Sarah Lovesky, and Clint Novak flew out to the Sunshine State to escape the Mid-Atlantic freeze from February 24 to March 1 of this year for the 2006 California Dreaming Tour. The thirty-minute DVD spotlights their experiences along the way.
After a daring plunge into the uncongenial winter Pacific waters, the Crew heads to Santa Monica Pier. A hotel visit and game of mini-golf later, we find the group at Six Flags Magic Mountain conquering what rides they can of the park's enormous collection. Due to language and sexual references, we won't recommend this DVD for all of our viewers. Several questionable sequences earn it a PG-13 rating. Yet, the DVD isn't quite as crazy as some of DVDs from one of our other affiliates, Theme Park Review. However, the Alveys of Theme Park Review were in fact along for part of the Coaster Crew trip when the group visits Six Flags Magic Mountain.
The Southern Cali fun rocks on with a visit to Knott's Berry Farm where the crew enjoys rides like Montezooma's Revenge and Jaguar while finding time to accomplish a good deed along the way. Finally, the trip culminates with its Disneyland finale.
Along with the video footage, this DVD includes several minutes of still pictures. And as a bonus, the DVD includes a video taken during a construction tour back when Tatsu was rising into the beast it is today. Three In the Loop podcasts by Clint Novak and Will Holder also accompany the Special Features section of the disc.
