Universal Studios Singapore, where world class thrills intertwine with world class films. This breed of world class themed attractions have boasted many names, but none as great at Battlestar Galactica. Battlestar Galactica, a Science Fiction television series based around Human and “Cylon” endeavors, broke out onto the scene as two world class racing Vekoma coasters. The Human side being the sit down style, and the Cylon side being the Invert, these coasters duel it out as they race to the end. Which side will you choose?
Battlestar Galactica stands out above the rest as this dueling coaster has two model types battling it out. With the intertwined coaster types, this creates a dueling effect as the two coasters are in competition with each other. Not to mention that unlike most coasters, Battlestar Galactica has LSM Launches instead of the traditional lift hill. As riders start on Cylon, the Inverted coaster, riders are instantly launched up the lift hill into the first drop. This drop flares out into the second element of this coaster, the Cobra Roll. Riders are taken back up into an helix leading into the Corkscrew element. A sharp turn to the right and riders are plunged into a mist filled trench into the loop element that encompases the lift hill. Another turn into a Zero-G-Roll with a following helix brings riders back into the station. If riders choose the Human side, the sit down coaster, riders are quickly whisked into the LSM Launch hill. The first drop leads into an inclined left turn, as riders circle around into the next drop. Again, the riders are taken up into a curved hill and down another hill. Riders are then whisked into an inclined left turn to roundabout into the next curved hill. This small hill goes above the lift hill, adjacent to the Cylon Loop. From this point forward riders are faced with a series of speed turns in a small spaghetti bowl effect ending out with a helix. Even though the Human coaster has been known to be more timid than the Cylon coaster, both live up to the Battlestar Galactica name. This blend of coaster types creates an unique dueling element as many elements are adjacent to each other.
