Paramount Kings Island has become a theme park leader in Hollywood entertainment. From there classic coasters like The Beast, to cutting edge of ride technology like Tomb Rader, The Ride. PKI is the place to go for your Hollywood ride Experience.
I talked to Maureen Kaiser about the upcoming season at Kings Island. Maureen talk’s about the new coaster going in for the 2005 season, and explains to us the process of how far out parks plane for attractions.
Clint Novak: Hey what’s going on, its Clint Novak with In The Loop. I got MK from Paramount Kings Island. She is the spooks women over at PKI. How are you today?
Maureen Kaiser: I am doing great. How are you doing?
Clint: I am doing fabulous. This Friday you have a special treat at PKI. You want to tell us about that?
Maureen: Yes, we want to encourage any folks that our in our neck of the woods. Come on out to PKI this Friday the 14th at 9:00AM. We are hosting a special construction tour at PKI. We are taking an insider look at how construction is going for the Italian Job Stunt Track are new roller coaster coming this spring. We will be entering in the south tolls area. Parking is free as well as the event it self. We will meet at Security gate 3 and head in the park at 9 O’clock.
Clint: The big coaster going in. How is this coaster going to be different from other coasters?
Maureen: The first thing people will notice is its very heavily themed. A lot of roller coaster are thrilling and exciting but this one has special elements that will really bring you inside the ride. You will board your very own Mini coop, and become a part of the movie. You will peel out at fast speeds, and you will come to varies stations like zooming throe a parking garage, splash down in an aqua duck. You will stop and have a helicopter rise up from the ride and shoot all around you. Splashes, Explosions. Its going to be a great experience.
Clint: I am really looking forward to this one. I am going this spring. Opening weekend I will be there with my beanie on yelling LET ME IN.
Maureen: All right I will look for yea.
Clint: Something that is going on in Ohio is all this bad weather. How is that effecting the construction of the ride?
Maureen: Well construction continues. A lot of people know we gave a Hollywood make over to our water park last year so we are no strangers to working in cold weather. We have been working around the snow. We were lucky it melted right away. We have had warmer weather as time goes on. We are looking forward to dry warmer days. Construction continues, we have concert pored, we have track arriving, and our parking garage is up over in the ride area. So it continues and strong at that.
Clint: I just saw a new press release about a new hotel for PKI?
Maureen: Well we are in negotiations with the great lakes company, witch is the head company for the Great Wolf Lodge. We hope to have a big announcement for you shortly.
Clint: Its funny, I spend a lot of time on the message board’s for roller coasters and its funny to see the rumors that people come up with. One of my favorites is when people come up with a 7 year plane for a park. Do you guys have a 7 year plane?
Maureen: We don’t have a 7 year plane, but we do work about 3 years out. We will be doing research and have been doing research as far up as 2007. And when we announce what’s going on in 2006 then well work on 2008 and then 2009 and so on.
Clint: Thank you so much for being with us today.
Maureen: Thank you, We do open Saturday, April 9th. We go daily operations Friday May 20th. We look forward to seeing every one out there.
