Hersheypark 2007 Rumors: Part Two / By: Josh Davidson, Friday, August 12, 2005 -

In 1907, a small park for the workers of the Hershey Chocolate Factory and the surrounding public opened with mini-parks for children and benches for the adult workers to relax during breaks. Much has changed since that quaint park opened. The once-small park has grown into one of the best world-class theme parks in the world. Today we look at more rumors for this park's future.
Hersheypark is the name that the park took in the eighties. Today, Hersheypark is a great theme park with ten world-class roller coasters, including Storm Runner which was revealed in the 2004 season. The park also included the Great Bear, which was revealed in 1998, making it the first inverted roller coaster in Pennsylvania. Now that Hersheypark is nearing their 100th anniversary, one of the sections in the park has changed its name to Founder's Circle to honor the person who started it all, Milton Hershey.
There are currently only two years left until 2007, the year when Hersheypark will celebrate its 100th anniversary. There have been many rumors about the park's plans for the 100th anniversary. Last time we began the editorial on the rumors of Hersheypark. This week we will conclude this editorial with more rumors and find out the truth to some of the things Hersheypark has said that they have no plan for.
First rumor has been one of the longest rumors running: a floorless roller coaster at Hersheypark. Floorless roller coasters are roller coasters in which riders can see the track below them the entire ride. Dorney Park's floorless roller coaster Hydra: the Revenge and Six Flags Great Adventure's Medusa are two examples of floorless roller coasters already in the Hersheypark area. Many Hersheypark coaster fans hope to have this rumor come true.
Our final rumor for this editorial takes us to a rumor just for a roller coaster. Many people believe that the park will just get one big roller coaster for 2007. Many people hope to get a good coaster in 2007 but until then we will have to wait.
One of Hersheypark’s fan sites, Hersheypark Online, the largest unofficial guide to Hersheypark, had the chance to interview the park's PR representative Kathy Barrows. In part of the interview she said as of right now there are no plans for Cocoa Bay. But, as we know the park is always working on something so let’s not give up hope for a water park quite yet.
Now there are many rumors and many varieties of rumors for the year 2007 at Hersheypark. For all we know is that Hersheypark has a plan-a plan that will change the outlook of Hersheypark forever.
