You don't think you can handle the surprise of what's to come at this year's Halloween Horror Nights? Want to be prepared so you won't get scared out of your mind? Well, reading this certainly won't help that. The time has come folks, it's Halloween Horror Nights 15 and no one will live happily ever after this time. Halloween Horror Nights: Tales of Terror runs on select nights in both September and October. The dates for this year's event are Sept. 30th; and Oct. 1st, 7-9th, 12-16th, 20-23rd, and 27-31st.
Let's discuss where everything will be placed this year, and I will describe exactly what everything is a little later on. First off, unlike last year, the event will be held only in Islands of Adventure, however Universal may open up parts of Universal Studios on peak nights (Friday's and Saturday's). Slightly smaller area for the crowds, but still plenty to do. One other thing Universal is improving upon this year is the number of workers and where they are assigned. Last year park guests had to walk some long distances, and much of it could be done through without running into even one "scareactor." They hope to change that this time around. Onto the event's map. Obviously you enter the park through Port of Entry, oh wait, I mean Terra Guard Run, which is the first scare zone. Marvel Super Hero Island is home to Blood Thunder Alley, Jurassic Park is Cemetery Mines, and the Lost Continent has Fire Pits. The house lineup is quite impressive as well. There are seven of them: Demon Cantina, The Skool, Body Collectors, Terror Mines, Blood Ruins, Where Evil Hides, and Cold Blind Terror.
Now it's time for the descriptions of everything. I will briefly talk about the scare zones, as there isn't much to say about them, then we'll head into the houses with slightly more detail. The first zone you will meet is Terra Guard Run. Better watch out as you are traveling through this horrifying gauntlet. Creatures are every where in this crazy land, picking visitors carefully to feel fright like they never have before. Continue on down the path and then comes Blood Thunder Alley, home to the Bone Choppers and where the deranged chainsaw creatures lurk everywhere. Not much description needed for this next zone, but I will give Cemetery Mines one, too. Here Knuckle Grunts run from mine to mine, terrorizing anyone or anything they come across. Fire Pits is lighted by the bursts of hellfire, and is where Ore Mongers smelt Gorewood Iron into shields, weapons, and the ultimate creation: the Terra Throne Blade.
Ah, here we go. The haunted houses. Do you dare step inside the Demon Cantina? The meanest of the deranged chainsaw-wielding maniacs enlist to provide entertainment, and to get one last taste of Bloodberry Wine all for the final Season of the Queen. The children of the Collectors, the Mongers, and anyone else from this twisted land dress up to celebrate the last Season of the Queen in their own demented way. A storage facility has been built, this one to store and process what is left of the victims of the local rituals. They are drained of all blood, and the corpses are piled to await the Body Collectors. Rumored to house the vast power that fuels the land above, the Abysmal Deep can only be reached by traveling through the Terror Mines, where savaged beasts constantly fight with with the Dragon Forge miners. These ruins at the old Blood Abbey serves as a prison, asylum, and hospital to a population of mankind donors. Before it began to crumble, Bloody Abbey was the place where numerous tools of torture were invented. The Ore Mongers now use these to deliver the the blood needed to supply the Terra Throne Blade, the Bloody Abbey is now the Blood Ruins. Your worst nightmares come true in this next terrifying house; this is the place where monsters live, skeletons are stored and bodies are hidden. It's Where Evil Hides. One cannot see, one cannot hear, one cannot escape. You are in and out of darkness. You shiver with fear and icy cold blackness. Strange sounds everywhere, but no source for you to recognize. You don't know what's out there. It's Cold Blind Terror.
And there you have it. Halloween Horror Nights: Tales of Terror. That gives you a run through of all the scare zones and houses, and now with this overview, you can feel slightly more confident about heading into this year's event. Like that will help anything.
