I know all you Walt Disney World goers have been wondering where those Hidden Mickey's are. For those of you who don't know a Hidden Mickey is an image of Mickey Mouse concealed in the design of a Walt Disney World attraction (ride, resort, etc...). Here is a list of some of the ones I know of:
»Magic Kingdom
-Swiss Family Treehouse
•Hidden Mickey in the carved design on the chair backs in the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in the dining room.
-Pirates of the Caribbean
•In the right queue when you are almost to the boats there is a metallic Mickey embedded in the floor in the pavement.
•Where the first pirate is drinking beer and when he tilts his head, a Hidden Mickey appears behind the man's hat.
-Country Bear Jamboree
•In the Country Bear Jamboree once you enter the theater look up! Above the main stage there is a hidden Mickey. There is a big circle and then there are little swirls that make up the ears.
-Splash Mountain
(Note: I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour on 12/16/99. The tour guide did say that there are a total of 67 hidden Mickey’s on the Splash Mountain ride. I will not list all of them)
•In line, there is an acorn house in one of the trees. As you pass the house, look at the side of the house, just below the roof there is a large acorn with two smaller ones forming the classic Mickey.
•There is a hidden Mickey just after the frog sitting on the alligator fishing. It's easy to see. Near the picnic basket is a Mickey shape formed by three red and white fishing bobbers.
-Big Thunder Mountain
•Just before you roll back into the station, there are three rusting gear wheels on the right-hand side of the track that form a Mickey. There are the ones closest to the track.
•Look for the three cacti just outside the exit in the shape of a Hidden Mickey.
-Haunted Mansion
•In the dinning room scene in the upper left hand corner of the table you will see a Mickey head made of the cups and plates.
•Just past the doors that the door knockers are knocking and bodies pushing on, there is a sign that reads Tomb Sweet Tomb, there are several bunches of flowers around the border of the sign, the bottom, center bunch clearly creates a Hidden Mickey.
•As your leaving the graveyard on your right is the fat lady singing. Right next to that is a tomb with a ghost in it. The ghost it holding up his left arm. In that hand he is holding a Mickey head.
-Cinderella Castle
•On the balcony of the Castle there are many Mickey’s cut out in the balcony railings and when light reflects through them then they reflect on the moat around the castle.
-Peter Pan's Flight
•Just before you enter the turnstile on the queue, look to your left. There is a bunch of trees. On one of the middle trees there is a hidden Mickey about 4 ft from the ground. Look hard, it's small. It is painted on the tree as some of the bark.
-It's A Small World
•There is a Hidden Mickey etched clearly on the brass part of pole number 14 outside Small World. If the queue is not up, ask a Cast Member if you can see it.
•At the end of the Africa room, on the elephants' left side, there are purple vines with flowers. The leaves/flowers up and to the right are Mickey silhouettes
•In the last room, the South Pacific section - the blue and white room, there is a clown in a balloon with a "Help" sign, and his hair is arranged like ears.
-Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh
•When you go into the "Rabbit's Garden" pay attention to the radishes. Around that area is suppose to be the radish that is shaped like Mickey.
•In Pooh in the Honey Tree, if you look at Pooh on the left side of his head there is a Hidden Mickey in the honeycomb.
-Barnstormer
•In the area between the attraction rails and the very last part of the queue area is a 'storm drain' cover with the Mickey head in the very center. Look to your right when standing in line (just before you enter loading area).
•On a weather vane above the silo to your right as you enter the barn. You won't see it at night.
-The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter
•In the waiting area, the windows form the hidden Mickey, one large round one with two smaller windows as ears.
•In the main room, as the aliens scan the audience for a potential traveler, a Mickey symbol appears the on video screen.
-Space Mountain
•During one of the news reports in the video shown in the queue area, a satellite comes toward the camera and it is a three-dimensional, fully-detailed Mickey head.
•In the video with Mario Lopez you see while in line, a building in the background forms a tri-circle Mickey. The shot falls away from the camera very quickly, so you have to pay close attention.
•It is on the moving walkway where you see the robotic dog. There is a small, black "Mickey" on his neck right under his collar.
-Tomorrowland Stage (Where my band played)
•At the small stage in Tomorrowland (near Space Mountain) there is a large Mickey above the stage. It is made out of the same scaffolding as the light riggings. Can be seen great from Transit Authority as you go by.
-Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
•There is a hidden Mickey as you come through a round door and spin completely around. If you can hit the hidden Mickey (which is hard) you get a million points.
•There is a hidden Mickey in the room with the battery shooting gallery, on the back wall.
-Walt Disney's Carrousel of Progress
•During the second act, when the wife is on the right ironing, her shadow forms a Hidden Mickey. The shadow is cast by a different light than the one on the wife - definitely a deliberate Hidden Mickey.
•In a glass of liquid there is a Mickey Mouse ice cube. This is relatively easy to see if you know what you're looking for.
