SRR, why don't you check some of the other pages in this topic? <_<

Riptide, a new flat ride. Knott's got one not that long ago.
I don't know of any pics though.

It's a Floorless Top Spin. Two parks are building one for 2005 following the prototype RipTide at Knott's Berry Farm: Kings Dominion and Valleyfair. The main difference from a normal Top Spin aside from the lack of a floor is the back-to-back seating.

Here's a page with pictures of RipTide in operation at KBF. Also, Valleyfair's site has a short video of the KBF version.

I haven't seen any construction pictures online yet. One of our Valleyfair locals should head over there and try to get some one of these days.

I can gurantee you guys that Riptide won't be on VF grounds until about amonth to a month and a half to opening. Flat rides can go up really fast unlike coasters. When WOF built Thunderhawk we didn't see the piecees in the parking lot till sometime around late Februrary early march. We open in April too.

That would be interesting, according to the rummor (posted in the rummor section) it would use terrain (simalar to Phantoms Revenge, Nemisis, or Air) to add more height to the drop with out making the ride taller. Interesting.

Ground work for RipTide might have already begun, but ThunderHawk at WOF did not have pieces arrive until the second week of March. Remember Huss Rides go up very quickly once they are on sight.

I just heard from somewhere that VF has not announced but is also getting Dorney Park's Skyscraper ride? Someone from themeparkcritic.com said that they heard it from an employee at the park.

Wait a second, there was specific mention of a 2006 coaster?

There was confirmation of the move for Dorney Park's Skyscraper in this interview.

Well thats a good addition to VF. It seems like there improving in all areas they need to.

2004: New kids area
2005: New thrill rides
2006: New coaster?
2007: Hopefully reworked "water park" (if you could call it that)

I can see a new waterpark before I can see a new coaster.

Yeah I read that interview about us getting Dorney Park's Skyscraper and I hope its true. That'd help out Challenge Park a lot if it was placed down in that area.

I just drove by Valleyfair! and didn't see anything going on, but closing day remember their was markings for underground wire and water pipes. We probably won't see any sign of Riptide till middle April as we open May 14th.

About the radio interview... I don't think if you were the marketing manager you would talk about a coaster that hasn't been announced or maybe not even finalized yet... Heck, the marketing manager may not even know about it yet.

I'm hopeing that 2006 is the year for a new coaster as Steel Venom was a small addition so I'm hoping for the B&M!

Yes but where would we put it? I can see them ripping out Antique Autos. Maybe even getting some space in the back of the park near Excalibur and Thunder Canyon to get more people to go back there. Possibly even tearing down Excalibur?

I've been in about 100 threads and all of em bring up where to put a coaster in Valleyfair! cause we have supposedly no room. WE HAVE ROOM! Just like Cedar Point we have to get creative...Except we have about 35 acres laying on the side and they don't.

As far was the new Skyscraper ride from Dorney that we ARE getting, it's location will be in the motorcycle parking lot right infront of the Steel Venom front spike. It will fly over basically that whole midway and the parking lot towards the entrance!

I think I heard somewhere that Valleyfair! can still expand another 40 acres.

We'll just have to wait for the season to start as we'll know whats going on by the end of next season if there is actually something thats going to happen or not.

Well when the OE derailed in 1999. It was closed for the rest of the season. It opened back up in 2000 with that Cherry Apple Red color scheme. But still was dismantled in 2003.
