Holiday ParkLocation: Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
|
Holiday Park is located in the municipality of Hassloch, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. As one of Germany’s most popular amusement parks, it gets approximately one million guests per year. The park is unique because of its design as an amusement park, water park and woodland gardens. While smaller than some of the larger European amusement parks, Holiday Park still packs a punch and it is hard not to notice it.
A company called Studio 100, owners of the park, are committed to quality, high level thrills, and innovation. When the park opened in 1971, it was home to Free Fall Tower, the first ride of its kind in Europe. It is still thrilling riders today. The park was also home to two coasters, Wilde Maus, from 1971-1978 and Super Wirbel (Super Vortex in German), built in 1979, which was the first inverting coaster in Germany. Then in 2001, a real gem was added to the park. Expedition GeForce, an Intamin Mega coaster and the crown jewel of the park’s coaster collection opened. This 178.9 foot coaster repeatedly appears on coaster polls as a favorite of coaster enthusiast worldwide. This coaster really put Holday Park on the map. With Holly’s Wilde Autofahrt, a 2010 Mauerer Sohne classic Wild Mouse coaster, along with the park’s newest edition to its coaster collection Sky Screamer, which is a Premier Rides launch coaster that blasts riders three times then passes them perpendicular into the air headlong into a roll straight down through a loop it may be that Holiday Park has a winning combination for enthusiast and families alike! They say good things come in small packages. Sounds like Holiday Park has that “wrapped” up! |
