Kiddee Koaster
Specific Type: Junior Coaster
|
Six Flags Fiesta Texas opened it’s doors in March of 1992 for the very first season. When the park first opened it had a large wooden coaster called the Rattler and the Kiddee Coaster. The Rattler was converted into a steel coaster now know as the Iron Rattler, so the Kiddee Coaster is the last remaining original coaster, and the oldest in the park. The Kiddee Coaster started out as Pied Piper from 1992-1995 themed to the German folk story of a rat catcher. In 1995 it was renamed to Rollschuhcoaster, complete with trains that resembled roller skates, it retained that name until 2008. The for the 2009 and 2010 seasons it was renamed Romp Bomp A Stomp, and given a Wiggles theme. The coaster was refurbished and the trains were made to look like children’s shoes. Unfortunately at the end of the 2010 season Six Flags was dealing with financial difficulties, they were forced to cancel a number of their intellectual property licences including the Wiggles. From 2011 forward the coaster was renamed to the generic Kiddee Coaster. This simple Vekoma coaster has a short length of 278.8 feet, however it does make two laps. They layout is an oval, with a booster wheel lift and a series off hops to introduce the young thrill seekers to airtime.
