Real California Adventure: Magnitude 5.4 earthquake rattles Disneyland Resort.

At 4:53 PM local time, the San Jacinto fault zone rumbled to life about 30 miles south of Palm Springs sending tremors all the way out to the greater Los Angeles area over 100 miles away. This and subsequent aftershocks which measured as high as a 3.0 shut down rides at Disneyland for a good chunk of the evening.

Park spokeswoman Suzi Brown said that some rides were able to come "back in operation in a matter of minutes, while others [took] a little longer." Each and every ride was thoroughly checked out before guests were allowed back on.

No injuries were reported, and by the end of the night, everything was back up and running, thanks to rigorous Southern California building codes.
