The second Dumbo ride has had a soft opening.

Guests are now seeing double at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom as another piece of the Fantasyland expansion puzzle has fallen into place. The park's second Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride has begun its soft opening phase according to Theme Park Tourist.

The original Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride has become not only one of the park's most popular flat rides, but one of the most popular rides in general. The original ride debuted in 1971 and has been seeing longer and longer lines ever since. The park decided to open a second Dumbo ride, and place it right next to the original, to help cut down on the exceedingly long wait times. These two rides rotate in opposite directions.

Also, the ride will now have a FASTPASS system like many of Disney's other hit rides to help guests skip the lines without paying any extra fees. These will be given out in a booth in front of Mickey's PhilharMagic.

The ride experience of the Dumbo rides is classic. It features elephant shaped cars that rotate around a central column. While the elephants are rotating the guests have the ability to raise and lower their individual elephants as they wish.

Also undergoing a soft opening is the new "virtual queue" system. Waiting in a traditional switchback queue can be quite boring, especially for children. The new system allows guests to partake in interactive activities and games while they wait in line.
