The park has reopened after a 3 year hiatus.
Ghost Town in the Sky is once again open to guests after being closed for nearly three years after bankruptcy shut the park down. Not all of the park is open at the moment, but this partial opening is definitely a step in the right direction.
The past decade has been rough for Ghost Town in the Sky. Back in 2002 the park went bankrupt and closed for the first time. It would remain closed for four years until Al Harper and a group of three others bought the park and reopened it again in 2007. Things were looking up for the park until bankruptcy struck again and closed the park once again. Plans arose to open the park once again, but then a mudslide hit and squandered these plans. Fortunately the park found new hope in Alaska Presley, one of the people involved in the very first opening of Ghost Town in the Sky.
According to Theme Park Tourist the attractions that are operating currently are the park's chairlift, the Ghost Town museum, some arcade games, and three brand new zip lines.
As of now the park is charging separate fees for the chairlift and zip lines. The chairlift costs $14.95 for adults and $7.95 for children, and include a bus tour of the Western Town area. The Western Town area will open in 2013. There is also an option to do all three zip lines for $39.95.
More attractions are expected to reopen fairly soon. The park's 1929 Carousel, Canyon Canoes, Sky Fighters (a flat ride featuring jet plane-themed vehicles) and Wagon Train are amongst these attractions. Two more phases of restoration are scheduled to be completed in the future.
