Park to add new flat ride for 2013

A new flat ride will be landing in Erie, Pennsylvania for the 2013 season as Waldameer has announced that they will be making an addition. According to Go Erie the park is adding a Music Express ride for next season.

Music Express is going to be a flat ride that will be familiar with most guests. The ride is based off the original Caterpillar rides manufactured by Harry Traver. Over time other companies have picked up the idea and released very similar rides with different names depending on which manufacturer built the ride.

Bertazzon and US Majestic Rides dubbed these rides Music Express (also spelled Musik Express), but the ride is also very well known as Himalaya. The manufacturers Wisdom Rides, Mack, and Reverchon are responsible for this naming of the type of ride. Silver Streak is another name given by Wisdom Rides.

The ride features 20 cars with a capacity of three passengers, with each car spinning around a central axis. While traversing in this circle, the trains also travel up and down vertically. As the name suggests, music is also a big part of the ride experience.
