Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Great Adventure opened its ginormous 100,000-gallon activity pool at the center of the brand new Calypso Springs. This is Hurricane Harbor’s largest expansion in the waterpark’s history to date. In the center of this beach entry-style pool stands an Obelisk-style fountain featuring a geyser that erupts spontaneously, according to Six Flags. Families can sunbathe on the vast open lounge deck which presents hundreds of chairs and oversized umbrellas for the hot summer days ahead. Although it's not far from the family-friendly theme parks of Orlando, this experience appeals to a different kind of audience — you can probably leave the kids at home for this one. The Walt Disney Company is reported to be holding talks with Tesla Inc. to replace the gas-powered go-karts at the Tomorrowland Speedway with the “Tesla Model S for Kids” battery powered ride-on car built by Radio Flyer. For approximately nine months, a female employee of Kings Island said she endured sexual harassment from her supervisor, according to a lawsuit filed last month. Her direct supervisor referenced her body, on one instance saying, "Your boobs are looking bigger," the lawsuit says. It also alleges he slapped her buttocks on at least five occasions and sang sexually explicit songs to her. In the complaint filed in federal court in Cincinnati, the employee says he asked if she wore a bikini to her son's Make-A-Wish trip and made other comments like, "you're my girl, and I'm going to keep you with me," and "[i]f you were my girl, I'd cook you." A man was shot and wounded late Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor waterpark in Concord, and police were searching for a suspect Saturday night believed to have been in an argument with the victim shortly before the shooting, Concord police said on their Facebook page. Police were called to the parking lot of the waterpark, formerly called Concord Waterworld, about 5 p.m. Saturday and found a man there suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the alleged shooter and the victim had been in an argument. The victim was taken to John Muir Medical Center, and police said he is expected to survive. The case of a family fight at Disneyland that garnered national attention after video of the melee surfaced online has been presented to prosecutors, who will decide whether to file criminal charges in the matter, police said Tuesday. Investigators used footage of the brawl — which took place at Mickey’s Toontown on Saturday — to continue their investigation after the family was “uncooperative,” according to the Anaheim Police Department. The family denied the incident when they were originally interviewed by authorities, police tweeted in response to a Twitter user’s statement about the ongoing investigation. Coaster-loving Cleveland Browns fans may want to put aside their football rivalry for two minutes. That’s the amount of time it takes to ride Steel Curtain, Kennywood’s new Pittsburgh Steelers-themed, record-breaking roller coaster that features a top speed of 75 mph and nine inversions. Hersheypark will unveil the “unique theme and design” of its 15th roller coaster at a special event at 10:30 a.m. July 24 in Chevrolet Music Box Theatre. Hershey announced that entry for 2019 season pass holders will begin at 10 a.m. at a designated entrance. The first 500 people at the Chevrolet Music Box Theatre at 10:15 a.m. will be admitted for the unveiling. The park has previously revealed that the roller coaster will be its longest, tallest and fastest. The roller coaster will be part of the Derry Twp. amusement park’s new area called Chocolatetown that also will include a themed restaurant that includes a second story patio and bar with panoramic views of the park; an ice cream parlor and confectionary kitchen that will be open year round; a Starbucks; a kettle corn stand; and a 10,000-square-foot retail store of Hersheypark toys, clothing and souvenirs.
