Winterfest returns to Kings Island Nov. 22-Dec. 31, park officials say, bringing with it five million holiday lights and a smorgasbord of holiday attractions. Hours for the holiday festival generally run 5-10 p.m. Fridays and Sundays and 4-10 p.m. Saturdays, with select December week days open and 5 p.m.-1 a.m. hours on New Years’ Eve. Winterfest is kicked off each night at 5:30 p.m with a lighting ceremony, featuring singing, dancing and a countdown to the moment Snoopy flips the giant switch and the Eiffel Tower comes alive with thousands of lights. In addition to the lights, park officials also tout Winterfest’s 10 winter wonderlands, 16 live shows and 19 rides that will remain open for the festival. FULL STORY

Tucked away in a storefront in downtown Worcester, surrounded by old posters of movies and hip-hop stars that adorn the walls of his office sits the vice president of Wu-Tang Management.
What’s the connection between Worcester and the internationally known group Wu-Tang Clan? Jimmy S. Kang. He gives off an unassuming air while he talks about his life in the music business and management which he puts down to the tough love he received from his father. FULL STORY Legacy Entertainment, true to its name, has been leaving its mark around the globe for nearly two decades. Since 2002, the award-winning design firm has delivered thrills through 40-plus immersive attractions such as Monster Mansion at Six Flags Over Georgia and elaborately themed indoor and outdoor parks and destinations, including Trans Studio Makassar in Indonesia, multiple ride projects at Lotte World in South Korea, and the sprawling Studio City Macau and Galaxy Macau resorts in China.
Now, with several major projects completed in 2019, it is wrapping one of its busiest years ever. The North Hollywood-based company, previously known as Gary Goddard Entertainment and Goddard Group, rebranded two years ago and named then 14-year company veteran Taylor Jeffs president and chief creative officer. Rounding out the management team are Barry Kemper, COO and director of production; Marcus King, chief projects officer; and Eric Carnagey, managing director, global business development and media. FULL STORY We figured this would happen. Elements first seen in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are starting to make their way across the Star Wars universe.
Before this week, nothing first seen in Galaxy’s Edge, has appeared in other Star Wars media besides the books and comic books. Great Escape floated a balloon Thursday morning to show town officials what a new ride would look like from Glen Lake. Great Escape officials had described the 165-foot-tall ride as “minimal, not substantial, not material.” They also said trees have grown and the ride would likely not be noticeable. But from Glen Lake, the balloon and much of the crane that held it could both be seen. The crane lifted the balloon to 165 feet. FULL STORY Not too long ago, I was talking to a fellow roller coaster enthusiast about all of the new rides that have been announced for next year, and all of the stuff that is rumored to be happening soon. And I said to him – “They’ve pretty much done everything there is to do at this point, right?”
Wrong. I’m consistently amazed at how roller coaster designers continue to come up with concepts that take the traditional roller coaster, and make it anything but traditional. Over the last few weeks, we have the latest example and it comes from S&S Sansei Technologies. S&S is known for their work with air launch systems (think Power Tower at Cedar Point or Maxx Force at Six Flags Great America). They also introduced the 4D Free Fly coasters to the world, like The Joker at Six Flags Great America. FULL STORY It's been an... interesting year in the theme park business.
