Lakemont Park was founded in 1894 as a trolley park, one of many that would open in the late nineteenth century into the early twentieth century in the eastern United States. Today, it has the distinction of being home to the world's oldest operating coaster, Leap the Dips, and one of the few side-friction wooden coasters left in existance. The other star attraction at Lakemont is Skyliner a relocated 1960 woodie.
