|
Built in 1980, Castle N’ Coasters is a small family oriented theme park in the Arizona desert, the primary park in arizona and the Midwest. The park has over 70 holes of mini-golf and an arcade. The park added their first roller coaster in 1992, with the construction of Desert Storm and also the Patriot in the same year. Patriot was built by O.D. Hopkins, a company known for making for making water rides instead of roller coasters. The Patriot is one of only seven steel roller coasters built by the company.
This 700 foot long ride contains a thirty foot drop, no corkscrews, loops, or any other kind of inversions. This ride, that lasts a little over a minute, starts off with a thirty-five foot climb, then drops you in a rotating drop, before tossing you in a series of slanted turns and sending you in a downward spiral, and making the last turn before docking. There is only one train for this ride with eight cars with one row per car, seating two abreast per row, able to hold sixteen passengers, with the passengers sitting abreastly. The Patriot is located at the back of the park, the farthest end from the mini-golf courses and the arcade. To get to the ride from the parking lot is about a two or three minute walk past Desert Storm, Sea Dragon, and Ram Rods. It might not have inversions but is one of the best roller coasters in Arizona. |
