Ravine Flyer 3
Specific Type: Family Coaster
|
Waldameer, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, has a vibrant history of attractions from the past and future coexisting in one park. Waldameer itself originally had coasters dating back to 1919, and coasters dating as recent as 2008. Not all of the classic attractions have survived, one being Ravine Flyer, a classic wooden coaster by Miller. This coaster however did not leave the minds behind Waldameer’s operation as they brought back to life an old name for a new E&F Miler Industries steel coaster, Ravine Flyer 3.
Ravine Flyer 3 and the original Ravine Flyer never truly operated near each other, however the name was used for the small coaster. Ravine Flyer 3 begins with a small lift hill from the station that takes riders into a small curved drop. As Ravine Flyer 3 roars next to the small pond below, riders are whisked away into another hill above the queue. Riders then dive back into another curved drop, circling around the small lake below. Riders then take on a few small hills in this turn going into a final hill that curves back into the station. Ravine Flyer 3 will then go through the station and go on another cycle to make 2 full circuits around the track. The next time you find yourself in Waldameer, experience an old name with new thrills for all ages and take on Ravine Flyer 3. |
