The biggest snake in the world lives in the most unexpected place... Doswell, Virginia, at Kings Dominion. Anaconda has been snaking its way through Kings Dominion since March of 1991. Anaconda is another fine creation of Arrow Dynamics, and the second Arrow coaster to operate at Kings Dominion following the Smurf Mountain mine train. When it opened, Anaconda featured a green and orange paint scheme, which was later converted to a bright orange, green, and yellow color scheme. This is a one-of-a-kind coaster, the first in the world to feature an underwater tunnel. This big snake takes riders through four inversions and speeds of up to 50 miles per hour while snaking it’s way over, around, and under Lake Charles.
After the riders board the train at the station, they secure the over the shoulder restraints and they’re on their way. It’s a short drop out of the station and straight into the chain lift. The lift hill takes the riders up 128 feet into the sky. Passengers can put on a pose for the on-ride camera and puts their arms into the air as the train flies down a twisting first drop into the underwater tunnel and under Lake Charles. Before the riders know it, they’re flying out of the tunnel and into the first inversion, a loop. Once the train slides out of the loop, it goes straight into a Sidewinder inversion (a half loop that corkscrews to the side at the top). After exiting the Sidewinder loop, the riders go over a small hill and into a turn that puts the train into the brake section. As the train leaves the brakes, it turns sharply to the side, giving the riders some lateral G’s. The track snakes its way around itself a couple times in a Butterfly figure-eight element and then goes into the final Double Corkscrew. These inversions leave the riders dizzy and wanting more. As the train leaves the corkscrew, it goes over a short bunny hop hill and dives under the lift hill. After that, it’s a short turn and then it’s into the final brake section and back to the station after a U-turn.
When you visit Kings Dominion, make your way to Lake Charles and ride the biggest Anaconda in the world! Written by Matt Keatts

Anaconda will always have a special place in my heart, being the first coaster I ever rode that went upside down. But beware. You may get your head hurt slightly on this on, as your head can get jammed in the harness from time to time.
Anaconda starts off with a small dip and onto it's chain lift. You can get some nice views of the water park from here, and the chain doesn't goes fairly fast, so enjoy the scenery while you can.
Anaconda really starts off with a big twisting drop underwater that pulls out up into an vertical loop, and then another inversion to bring you back into Lake Charles. You slam into the midpoint breaks, and get a moment to breath. But not for long.
You then drop into a butterfly figure right that you will find either fun or painful. Then two corkscrews with a little hill over the chain lift, and twist, and then the final brakes. A turn later, and your inside the station, either wanting another ride, or some medication for your head.

A wonderful steel monster that does it as good or better than others of the same kind. Love the butterfly figure-eight into the unique double corkscrew, and on these rides the back seat is best! A solid 9 out of 10!

This is a nice coaster! It is a fun, smooth ride. The loops are do not hurt your head like some do. The one thing I don't like about it is the breaks in the middle of the ride. It slows the train way down. My favorite part would be the SLOW doubble corkscrew at the end. It is so slow that you slide around in your chair and it feels like your going to fall out of the seat!
I also like this ride because I go to PKD once or twice a year and for the past four or five years there has been NO LINE for this big ride! Its probably the shortest line for a coaster in the park. Sometimes you can just stay on the ride for two or three trips! I don't know why its not a popoular ride, but I like it!

Haven't ridden in a few years. Was a pretty nice ride. Did have areas that were a bit jerky, though. The underwater tunnel feature was pretty cool. Overall, a good ride.

This ride is one of the best in the park. It creeps up a steep hill and your terror begins with loops of screams. I lost my earring on this ride and my voice. It was great.
