Specific Type: Mine Train

While at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, many families wonder if there are any family roller coasters. Sure you got Der Rollershuhcoaster, which some of the family members see as “baby roller coaster”. While trying to find a family roller coaster, you walk by Rattler look ahead, and it’s the Road Runner Express! The Road Runner Express is an Arrow Mine Train made in 1997. It was the last Arrow Mine Train ever constructed. The 73 foot tall roller coaster interacts with the cliffs made by the old quarry thatSix Flags Fiesta Texas was built in. The roller coaster had a limited amount of space because it was built right next to Rattler and right next to the water park, Armadillo Beach. So they decided that they would make the ride interact with the cliffs and Rattler. Like Rattler and Superman: Krypton Coaster, Road Runner Express hops on the cliffs and does some of it’s ride stuff like the helix on Rattler, the turnaround on Superman, and the first drop on Road Runner. Road Runner Express then dives into the ravine and dives in and out of Rattler’s supports.
As it is not as intense as Thunderation at Silver Dollar City, it is still as intense. Arrow had a hard time making the ride, it was so tight with the space they had. So they pulled a “Batman: The Ride” by shoehorning the ride in with several tight turns that make the ride intense. The queue line, however, is one of the longest at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It consists of several switchbacks and turn-arounds. Along the way, there is a little story that goes along with the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote going at it again and Wile E. Coyote’s failed attempts at catching the Road Runner. The track on the Road Runner Expressis supposed to be a failed experiment at a new type of train made by none other than Acme! Oh, it’s time to ride. Riders board the coaster and put their belongings away, then up the lift they go. Up the very fast lift and a quick turn, we see that there is a huge drop into the supports of Rattler! Wile E. Coyote is down at the bottom and he has switched the track from the safe track to the bad track. You make a quick turn into the heart of Rattler and go into one of the many helices on the roller coaster, then you take a quick turn up the quarry wall. Next you go through another helix, then up the second lift hill. After turning off the lift, riders go through another quick helix. Then the riders take a quick drop, then into the big helix of the ride. You are on top of the quarry wall while doing this! Two more helices and riders make a quick drop and turn into the brake run. Wow this ride is so intense. All of the family will love it! |
