Morey’s Piers is the quintessential seaside park spanning three boardwalk piers and two world class water park complexes. When you think of seaside vacations it is hard not to first think of the Jersey Shore. Morey’s has been expanding since they opened in 1969 with just one fiberglass slide to its current state with over one hundred rides. In 1999 they added Rollies Coaster, a classic Pinfari Zyklon. This coaster is located on Mariner’s Pier set up to be a traditional amusement park with classic favorites like the Musik Express, Teacups, a giant Ferris Wheel, and their very unique walk through haunted house called The Ghost Ship.
Rollies Coaster has a cool retro station that has a 50’s Doo-Wop style to it. Complete with bright colors, moulded plastic shapes, and a slanted roof. The train cars are highly stylized as well. They run as single cars and have smooth lines that make them look like cross between a two row bummer car and a horse drawn sleigh with OTSR. The ride experience starts with a climb to the top of the lift where cars enter their first turn around, and then dip into the main drop gathering speed. The train does a turnaround on the other side and does another dip completing a figure eight. Riders next find themselves in a slightly banked 360 degree helix. After the train gets spun around it does another dip, turn, and dip before the final turn into the brakes. If it weren’t for those OTSR you could fist pump your way around the circuit. |
