Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a steel roller coaster included as part of the Fantasyland’s 2014 expansion at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The roller coaster is based upon the classic story of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first animated feature film. The train travels in and out of scenes from the beloved classic film. Visitors to The Magic Kingdom sway back and forth on Vekoma’s twisting track in this musical roller coaster adventure, featuring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The train exists the station and takes a casual dip and turns at the base of the mountain. The train then begins its climb on the first of two chain lift hills. The hill over looks the expanded Fantasyland before swooping to the right and left. Riders sway side to side as they twist around the beautiful countryside setting. The trains then send riders into the base of the mine shaft where they join the beloved Seven Dwarfs. The scenes place riders in the mine as they become a part of the story brought to life. The Seven Dwarfs are mining for diamonds, jewels, and other gems. In the mind shaft riders will recognize songs such as Heigh Ho, while Disney's flawless animation surrounds riders as they pass through. Riders watch on as Sneezy has a close call, Sleepy slacks, and as Dopey, well, is Dopey. The trains are pulled out of the mine shaft by the second chain lift hill. Exiting the mine shaft riders overlook the New Fantasyland one more time before plummeting into a helix, across a bridge, and though a series of banked s-curves. The cars of the mine train rock back and forth with every twist and turn the track has to offer. The train coasts into a set of breaks and riders can see through the windows of the Dwarf's cabin as they dance with the Disney Princess Snow White. Just as they train pulls back into the station they are teased with a cameo from the wicked witch from the story. The ride experience includes both indoor and outdoor segments throughout the ride span. The trains of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train feature a new ride system designed to simulate the swaying and tipping one expects to experience in a real mine cart. As traditional with Disney, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will immerse both young and old with vivid detail and fun surprises around every turn. While there are some dark segments with loud sound effects, the thrill rating is rather low on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Speeds and drops on the Mine Train are comparable to Big Thunder Mountain. Riders must be 38 inches tall to ride. |
