August is a pretty big month for us here at COASTER-net. For one thing, its our birthday and we've just turned 14! For another thing, its the peak of the season and everyone is excited about what's new in their park and what might be coming next year. But August is also a big time for contests here and we've got three of them going on right now!

First off is our monthly coaster quiz. No one managed to get a perfect score on our July Quiz with Danny Miller posting a top score of 7/8 correct. This month we've made things a little bit easier, but the $5 prize only goes to the first person to get them all right, so don't waste any time this month in going to try it out.

Secondly we have our annual Coaster Calendar Cover Contest (C-4 for short) wrapping up. We have selected the winners in each of three photography categories, and now we are asking all of you to vote for the winner from these finalists. The picture with the most votes will be featured on the cover of our 2013 Calendar. Voting ends on Friday, August 10th.

And then thirdly we are in the final round of our Summer Coaster Draft. This year saw the exciting addition of water part attractions to this familiar contest. The park write ups will be being posted in the upcoming week and then that contest as well will be up for a vote to see who will be crowned champion so be watching for that.
