Indiana Beach, a lakeside amusement park that blends classic family fun with modern thrills. It has been home to various iconic coasters, like the Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, and Steel Hawg being the latest thrill. However, Indiana Beach is also home to a classic coaster relic dating back to 1984. Being a Schwarzkopf Jet Star coaster, Tig’rr has become a classic icon of family fun at Indiana Beach. Riders in a toboggan style car, riders experience the compact thrilling nature only Schwarzkopf could have imagined in his coasters with this classic. Will you tag along for this classic attraction?
Riders start off with a small right turn followed by a 44.3 foot tall ascent. Passing by the Cornball Express and the beautiful lake beside it, riders are engulfed by the park’s beautiful scenery and the spectacular coaster collection. Cresting at the top, riders take a small pre drop into a right turn following the curvature of the Cornball Express. Tig’rr then takes riders into the first drop flaring out into a curved right turn. This right turn flares out as riders chase up the next hill and into another right turn following the same path as the first turn above it. Nearly missing the first drop the Tig’rr takes a small dive coming back up into another curved ascending left turn. Riders, continuing on this turn, descend then re-ascend into the next small drop. This leads into another ascent into the next turn around, again, mimicking the first turn before the drop. Riders then take another drop followed by a helix that flares out into another drop, followed with the same turn as prior to the first drop. Again, another near miss with another drop as Tig’rr makes a smaller drop into the final curved turn that leads into the final brake run. The beauty of this classic coaster is the speed paired with a small compact space for the coaster. It is this beautiful marriage of coaster theologies that Schwarzkopf engineered into each of his coasters, Tig’rr being no different. Even though this coaster is a classic at the park, Tig’rr still is a thrilling coaster that is no different from the other coaster credits found at Indiana Beach.
