Wooden Coaster - Fireball
Specific Type: Wooden
|
Being first is always exciting, it means that you are going into the unknown, breaking barriers, and offering something new. Wooden Coaster - Fireball at Happy Valley Shanghai is China’s first wooden roller coaster bringing a new experience to a region on the tipping point for amusement park construction. Happy Valley Shanghai is the fourth Happy Valley Park to open, and Wooden Coaster - Fireball was part of the opening cast along with four other steel coasters. This ride introduced China to the distinctively alive feel and airtime of a wild wooden roller coaster.
Guests load into PTC trains facing the 108.3 foot tall lift hill. After the cars are locked and checked the train creeps up the hill, each click ratcheting up the tension and anticipation. Once the train dives down the main drop the riders experience the 55.9 MPH max speed at the bottom of the hill as the train roars under its first head chopper and ascend the first of nineteen airtime hills. The train weaves through the structure of the ride, and then up and around a sweeping banked turn to the left. The track straightens out and the track goes through a series of airtime hills and head choppers as it cuts under its own structure. The train turns around in another large sweeping banked turn to the left. The train goes over another airtime hill and then the tracks bobs and weaves in a serpentine motion as the track cuts over and through its own structure. The path back continues to keep riders on their feet as it navigates airtime hills as the track keeps riders guessing darting right and left with athletic agility. A hard banked turn to the right brings the riders into the brake run and concludes the 3,819 foot long circuit. |
