Specific Type: Wild Mouse (Large)
Situated in about the center of the popular Cedar Fair's park Canada's Wonderland and directly next to the park's Vekoma boomerang roller coaster,the Bat, lies Fly. Fly is a steel wild mouse roller coaster that has a little bit of everything from the popular 180 degree tight turns to a couple of hair rising drops that give riders some airtime. Fly is not the only of its type either. It has a clone at Kings Dominion known as Ricochet.
As with all wild mouse roller coasters, trains consist of just one car. Each car on Fly has two rows, each row holding two people totally up to four people in each car. The Mack Rides built coaster has been in operation since 1999. Riders reach a maximum height of almost fifty-two feet on this yellow monster and reach a top speed of thirty-five miles an hour, all while being thrown around 1,312 feet of steel track.
After loading, riders exit the station with an immediate roughly 160 degree turn to the right, and then are taken up the lift hill. After being taken around another 160 degree or so turn to the right, riders get a good view of Vortex in the short distance, which is Canada's Wonderland's suspended roller coaster, a clone of Flight Deck at Kings Island. A massive first hill is experienced right off the bat after the turn off the lift hill and the trains dive almost to ground level, then back up again, hitting the coaster's first break run, slowing it down for its next section. Once back up nice and high again, the ride starts a long stretch of tight 180 degree turns. The track gradually goes down after each turn, allowing it to keep going at the speed it is going. Riders sometimes get the feeling they will "fall out" due to the tight and fast motions around these tight turns. After eventually making the way across the main part of the coaster's footprint via the 180 degree turns, the trains make their way down a wide leftward turn, and into another drop, but not as near as big as the first one. After the drop, trains are slowed by a quick break run, and then immediately enter a quick 180 degree turn leftward. Another drop immediately follows afterwards, also leading into another break run. Two more 180 degree turns follow this third drop, and then the ride is over. The final breaks catch, and the trains are lured around an 80 degree turn to the left back into the station.
