Behind the scenes at Cedar Point's Halloweekends: 'Screamsters' put on their monster makeup in Haunt Central
Every autumn season, Cedar Point unleashes 300 monsters into its park for its annual Halloweekends.
The monsters, called "screamsters," are park actors dressed up as different spooky characters. There are pirates, scarecrows, goblins, snakes and more, dressed for 12 haunted houses and haunted walks around the amusement park.
Before Cedar Point opens its doors to visitors during Halloweekends, the screamsters show up early to prepare inside a room called Haunt Central -- a large back room where 27 makeup artists make regular actors look as scary as possible.
