As winter drags on, some of us are already looking ahead to summer and planning ways to fill those long, sweltering days. For the adrenaline junkie, Cedar Point has you covered. The amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio — a two-hour drive from Detroit — unveiled on Friday new dining options for 2019 and leaked details of a new immersive attraction.
Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island
The Ohio roller coaster and waterpark recently announced that it will be introducing a new, immersive experience called Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island this season.
According to the Cedar Point website, the experience will be an interactive game visitors can jump into at any time of the day. The parameters of Adventure Island will be a previously closed-off section of the park. The game is set to premiere May 25 and will be open daily from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. until Sept. 2.
Frontier Town, a section of the park known for the park's newest roller coaster, Steel Vengeance, will have its own street festival this summer called the Frontier Festival. The festival will have an Old West theme and will feature craft and games for kids, local artisans, live entertainment and food and drinks to sample.
