Few industries are founded on fantasy as much as theme parks. Their rides use technical wizardry to immerse guests in alien environments, their landscapes are out of this world and some of the food in their restaurants wouldn't look out of place in a sci-fi film. The coronavirus is bringing them back down to earth.
Instead of waiting for guests to be vaccinated, parks around the world are now wrestling with the challenge of integrating practical procedures to prevent the spread of the deadly virus in their escapist surroundings. It could be a whole new world for guests.
