Few things are more pure than a child at Six Flags Over Texas in the 1960s.
When the park first opened in Arlington in 1961, it was the first glimpse of what would become a massive Texas brand. It started with six themed areas within the park, each one representing the countries that claimed sovereignty over Texas throughout the state's history.
Now, a rare home movie of the park in 1962 reveals a more detailed look at the early years. Blogger Dallas Moore recently found the reel of footage at a garage sale in Mineola, Texas.
