Gardaland, nestled in beautiful Italy, has been known for world class coasters. From family friendly coasters like Mammut, to high thrill coasters like Oblivion: Black Hole, Gardaland has something for everyone. However, this blend has been perfected with the addition of a coaster that is for all the thrilling riders at Gardaland. This Vekoma has taken this classic concept and innovated it with minor theming that makes this coaster fit perfectly within Gardaland’s atmosphere. The Vekoma SLC, Blue Tornado, takes Gardaland by storm blending light theming with the world class thrills that Gardaland is known for. Do you dare to take on this whirlwind coaster?
Blue Tornado starts riders off with a lift hill to a height of 109.3 ft. However, this lift hill goes over the small shallow pool of crystal blue water and the queue line itself. Once at the top, riders chase down the curved right drop at speeds up to 49.7 mph. This drop flares out into the iconic SLC Roll Over element. After this, riders ascend left and then drop into a shallow trench that goes within the water pool with mist creating a trench effect. This leads into the Sidewinder element taking riders out of the trench leading into a right curve. This curve takes riders into the Double In-Line Twist element which serves as the final inversion of the ride. Riders then go through a curved descent right then ascent following the same right curve. Riders then swiftly drop and enter into a curved left turn helix that follows into the brake run. This Vekoma SLC follows the similar pattern of most SLC coasters, however makes use of certain thematic effects to create it’s own type of coaster experience. The next time that you are in Gardaland, take on the wind and ride Blue Tornado. |
