Along the shores of Galveston Bay and Clear Lake, guests can find the beautiful Kemah Boardwalk and while on the boardwalk, can find all of the entertainment they could imagine including the Kemah Boardwalk Amusement Park. Among the many rides, attractions, and restaurants you will find one of the best wooden roller coasters in the state of Texas. Boardwalk Bullet is a fast, twisted wooden roller coaster that was opened in 2007 and is the only wooden coaster in the Greater Houston area.

The Boardwalk Bullet was designed by Gravity Group and manufactured by Martin & Vleminckx. The twisted out and back style coaster reaches a maximum height of 96 feet and traverses over 3,236 feet of twisted wooden track. The trains catch a top speed of 51 mph and collects about 3.5g’s of force. The coaster features two trains with six cars each. There are a total of 24 seats on each train which allows for about 800 riders per hour. The trains were built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. The coaster cost a little over $3 million and is one of the most compact wooden coasters in the world. Come with us now as we take you on a virtual ride of the one, the only, Boardwalk Bullet!

As guests walk along the boardwalk, you can see the twisted compact track of the Bullet. As you arrive at the queue, you walk up to the dispatch station with the anticipation mounting inside of you. The yellow train hits the brakes, the queue doors open, and you sit down in the standard PTC seats. Fasten your seatbelt and then pull the lapbar down. The train leaves the station, veers to the right down a small grade and onto the standard wooden lift chain. The coaster climbs to a height of 96 feet and at the top you can view the park all around you. The train turns to the left through the lift hill as it begins to descend 92 feet down to the bottom. The coaster speeds around a right hand banked turn and then flips to a left hand banked speed turn going right through the coaster structure. The next element is a small bunny hill and then into a heavy banked left speed turn and two more airtime bunny hills. The coaster never loses speed as it now heads for another left hand turn, through a trim brake and underneath the coaster structure. The coaster then goes through a process or quick left to right zig zags before doing the final helix into the brake run. You barely have time to catch your breath as the coaster is fast from start to stop. Make sure that you give this wooden coaster a try next time you are in the Greater Houston area.
