Cocoa Cruiser
Specific Type: Family Gravity Coaster

Hersheypark is a wonderful park located in central Pennsylvania since 1906 as a ballpark and picnic grove for employees of the Hershey Company. Milton Hershey was a visionary and he wanted to merge his chocolate company and provide entertainment and recreation as well. The park itself is a lasting reminder of Milton Hershey’s vision. The park opened it’s first rollercoaster in 1923 called the Wild Cat, but it wasn’t until the 70’s that the park really started to develop into a destination for vacationers and thrill seekers from all over. Hersheypark has rides, shows and attractions that are meant to appeal to every member of the family with a variety of interests. In 2014 they installed Cocoa Cruiser a roller coaster that could be enjoyed by young guest brave enough to try their first roller coaster. This was surprisingly something the park didn’t have for decades since they removed Mini-Comet in 1978.
Cocoa Cruiser was manufactured by Zamperla and can accommodate guests as small as 36” with adult supervision. This whimsical ride features bright yellow tracks and blue supports. The six car train looks like mine cars and glides around an oval layout with a helix in the center. The coaster is not very tall or fast but it offers an exciting ride for families to enjoy with their children. |
