Dragon Fire is an icon to the skyline at Canada's Wonderland. Opening in 1981, Dragon Fire is one of the four original roller coasters at the Canadian park's debut. Originally Dragon Fyre, this Arrow Dynamics Custom Looping coaster boasts a vibrant coat of paint. The track is green and yellow with purple support beams. As the train rolls out of the station, riders experience a small dip and u-turn to the left as the train approaches the lift hill. Riders then brave a lift hill that carries them 78 feet into the air before dropping them 76 feet towards the ground. At the bottom of the hill the train's speed reaches 50 miles per hour. The train and its riders are then hurled into the first two of four inversions: back to back vertical loops. As guests are released from the loops the train whips them through a bank turn to the left and into the second pair of inversions. Dragon Fire sends riders through a set of corkscrews in a counter-clockwise rotation. After the removal of Drachen Fireat Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dragon Fire became the only roller coaster designed by Arrow Dynamics to have counter-clockwise twisting corkscrews. Exiting the corkscrews the train passes through a set of mid-course brakes prior to the final element of the ride. Dragon Fire's finale is a helix to the right. The train then enters the final set of brakes and returns to the station after the minute and a half adventure. The original design of Dragon Fire had the ride operating with three trains. However it was decided that the ride performed better with only two trains. It was decided that the roller coaster would only operate with two trains prior to its 1981 premier. The third train has made an appearance since then the the park's boomerang style coaster: The Bat.
