Playland park is home to a variety of thrill rides and kids rides, but the Family Flyer bridges that gap and allows children to ride a real roller coaster with their parents. The park does offer another kiddie coaster, a classic landmark known simply as the Kiddy Coaster, but adults cannot ride that with their children, and their other offerings children cannot ride at all if they are under 48”. The Family Flyer is a Zamperla coaster the track is shaped like an oval with a helix in the center. The lead car features a dragon perched on the front, which is a mascot for the park. The maximum height is 13 feet and it is exciting yet gentle enough for families to ride with young children who may be riding their first coaster. The track length is only 262.5 feet long but riders are treated to two laps around the circuit.
