Fantasy IslandLocation: Grand Island, NY

Fantasy Island in New York opened in 1961as a quaint little island park but went bankrupt in 1982. It was acquired out of bankruptcy by Charles Wood, the original owner of Storytown USA. He sold the park to International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) in 1989, and later re-acquired the park in 1992 when IBC went bankrupt. The second time Wood owned the park he changed the park's name to Two Flags Over Niagara Fun Park, a name it kept until 1994 when local businessman Martin Dipietro purchased the park and redubbed it Martin's Fantasy Island.
The park has had 7 or 8 different coasters in the history but currently only have two in operation. The Steel Crazy Mouse coaster was built in 2005 and is the latest edition to the park. The other coaster is the Silver Comet, a CCI thrill coaster that was built in 1999. The park also has an abundance of carnival type rides and food stands. The park boasts a few water rides that are sure to please the entire family. The park is open from May through September and is a gret place to spend a day out with the family. The park also has added Water World recently as a waterpark filled with slides, pools, and geysers that will cool you off on a warm summer day. Make sure you test out Martin’s Fantasy Island and may all of your fantasies come true. |
