Kozmo's Kurves

Kozmo is the lovable woodland creature who is the mascot for Knoebels Amusement Park and Resort. Kozmo is depicted in their logos, merchandise, and can often be seen wandering around the kids area posing for photos and interacting with younger guests. Kozmo’s Kurves is a custom built E&F Miler Industries kiddy coaster that appeals to the same guests. It was built on the former location of High Speed Thrill Coaster, a coaster that allowed Knoebels youngers guests to have a roller coaster experience. So when they decided that High Speed Thrill Coaster (1955-2008) was ready to be replaced they wanted to retain the same location, and build a bigger better version for the young thrill seekers to enjoy. The location for Kozmo’s Kurves is great, the coaster traverses a river where other families might be piloting a boat ride and in a shady area at the edge of the property where guests would have to fully explore the kiddie area to reach it.
When guests step up to the covered station they are greeted by bright orange and green two tone train. The colors are separated by a purple stripe that matches the tracks. The six cars accommodate two rides each. Once the ride is dispatched the train briskly climbs the 20 foot tall lift hill. The main drop crosses the river in a left hand bank and skims the ground on the other side. The track ascends into an airtime hill and then banks left over the river and enters a helix. The helix rises and drops as the train negotiates the 360 degree element. It crosses the river again and cuts under the lift hill during an airtime hill. With the bending track resembling a piece of ribbon the coaster goes over another airtime hill, banks to the left and crosses the river once more with another bunny hop. The train the hops into the station, but doesn’t stop, the chain grabs the train and sends it around for another lap, then another! The ride ops will even send it around a fourth time if the mood strikes them. So the next time you are at Knoebels make sure to have your picture taken with Kozmo and then hop on his coaster. |
