Lakeside Amusement ParkLocation: Denver, CO
|
On the banks of Lake Rhoda in Denver Colorado sits LakeSide Amusement Park, one of Colorado's best kept secrets. On May 30, 1908 the park opened as White City. From that day forward the Krassner family has been entertaining families at LakeSide for over 105 years.
The park itself has a wide variety of rides for the whole family. Most of the rides you find are popular at many parks around the states. Thrills for the adults abound and there is a kidde-land for the little ones. With four coasters, there is a coaster for every member of the family. The main attraction is The Cyclone. The coaster was built in 1940 by Edward A. Vettel. Cyclone and The Blue Streak are the only remaining coasters from this designer. Many parks have a wild mouse type ride, but at this park they have a Wild Chipmunk. Every park needs their icon and this is it. Where this park differs from many is when the sun goes down. The park comes alive with thousands of lights all over the park. With the amazing architecture the aura makes it more than a park, but an experience. As you leave exit the park, you will see a word on the building saying "Redit" and you will know that you are leaving one of America's best family owned theme parks. |
