Situated in beautiful Sweden, Liseberg is the thrilling home to spectacular coasters. With the likes of Helix, Kononan, and Balder, Liseberg has been a source for thrill seekers with the mix of the beautiful Swedish terrain. However, the classic Zeirer Schwarzkopf, Lisebergbanan, has stood the test of time and has proved to be one of the thrilling classics in the Liseberg lineup. Roaring like a locomotive, this train themed coaster roars through the Swedish hillsides and has roared into the hearts of thrill seekers everywhere.
Lisebergbanan, themed to a train ride, is no ordinary train ride through the hill slide. Lisebergbanan starts riders off with a sharp left turn into the lift hill. While on the ascent, riders are surrounded by both Helix and the coaster itself as the Lisebergbanan races to the top. Cresting the lift hill, Lisebergbanan takes an enlarged downward left turn through the trees into a helix passing by the Helix coaster. Followed by another large right turn riders are whisked through the trees into a turn around with the tower flat ride. Flaring out passing by the forest, riders make a right into a mid course brake run. This leads riders into a curved drop followed by an ascent, then to drop again, following this pattern two more times to create a compact racing element. On the last drop around however, the coaster picks up, and goes into a hill going over the log flume, then under Helix which creates a racing aspect on the coaster. Once again, another helix is performed followed with a brake run, a small right then left turn into the final brake run. The most iconic elements on this coaster, being the helices, blend perfectly with the natural wooded setting and the train theme of this coaster.
