Gardaland would never be the same when this Bolliger and Mabillard Dive Coaster took hold on the coaster lineup. Reports of this coaster first came in by their own media team, as Gardaland weaved a tale of a mysterious black hole opening up over the construction site. This allowed for the coaster’s theme to develop and evolve naturally, and yet remain true to the coaster itself. As opening day loomed, it was a masterpiece that included a guest interactive queue, exquisite theming, and the thrills that can only be found on a B&M dive coaster and named her Oblivion: Black Hole.

Oblivion: Black Hole is centered around the idea that the rider will embark into the black hole only to enter into a new dimension. After navigating the queue and learning the backstory of the coaster, riders are loaded into the classic B&M Dive Coaster cars and ascend the lift hill. Reaching a peak of 139.4 feet, riders move to the drop point and stop. As all Dive Coasters have the signature Dive element, this coaster makes use of the tunnel below, adding bent objects like a car, and a windmill, being almost sucked into the tunnel. In an instant, riders are dropped into the first tunnel, hurdling at speeds up to 62.1 miles per hour. Flaring out into a signature Immelman, this transitions riders into the coaster’s “dimension”. Following a curve, the final coaster element is a heartline roll that takes guests back into the brake run and into the station. Oblivion: Black Hole has a small, compact coaster footprint, and utilizes that footprint to make the coaster intense and unrelenting. If you ever get the chance to go to Gardaland, step up for the challenge and take on Oblivion: Black Hole.
