Parque Warner MadridLocation: Madrid, Spain
|
Madrid has never been considered in particular as a city with huge thrills. At least, it hasn’t been since 2002. Parque Warner Madrid, located just outside of Madrid, Spain, may be unheard of by most coaster enthusiasts. Despite being relatively unknown, the park has a unique set of rides, featuring a custom floorless B&M coaster, and one of the only Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang coasters on the planet.
When the park first opened as Warner Bros. Park Madrid under Six Flags Inc. in April of 2002, it brought a set of rides the European continent had never seen. The park allowed visitors to step into the world of the movies, and experience them first hand through gut-wrenching thrills. In 2004, the management with Six Flags Inc. ended, and the park became independently operated by Time Warner, along with numerous Spanish parties. Thankfully, a change in ownership didn’t change the thrill level at the park. The park features multiple heavily themed areas. Park guests can spend the day with super heroes and super villians alike in DC Superhéroes World. Rides here include Lex Luthor and La Venganza del Enigma, a massive S&S drop tower compelx. The Warner Bros. Studios area hosts a few smaller attractions, but the crowning thrill is Stunt Fall, one of the only Giant Inverted Boomerangs built by Vekoma. Younger guests can spend the day in Cartoon Villiage, a kid friendly area featuring lovable characters like Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, and Looney Toons. Old West Terriroty takes visitors back to the days of cowboys and blistering hot desserts, with rides like Coaster Express and Rio Bravo, a reversing log flume water ride. With a collection of 42 rides, Parque Warner Madrid provides exciting rides for visitors of all ages. Stunt Fall towers above the park, taking riders up two 192 foot vertical spikes and six inversions, both backwards and forwards. Also casting an ominous shadow over Spanish sand is Superman: la Atracción de Acro, a floorless steel coaster that takes its passengers on a flight with the Man of Steel himself. Rounding off the parks coaster lineup are Batman la Fuga, a standard Batman: The Ride clone, and Coaster Express, a colossal wooden coaster built by the Roller Coaster Corporation of America. Parque Warner Madrid is a unique experience for all, and shouldn’t be missed if ever in Madrid. |
