Europa Park is a park filled with high theme and thrills that leaves a little bit of everything for everyone. From a Nordic wooden roller coaster; Wodan Timbur Coaster, to the great launch coaster known as Blue Fire Megacoaster, Europa Park is a true MACK Coasters paradise. One coaster, a Water Coaster, takes guests at Europa Park on the fury of a Greek god of the oceans, Poseidon. Will you dare to take on this ancient deity?
Riders first meander the Greek queue of Poseidon in his temple, ending with the heavily themed station filled with Poseidon’s Trident and his broken shield. Riders embark on boats through the shield into the semi submerged ruins of a Greek city. Water is pouring from the walls as guest pass a broken boat and the ruins of what was a great city. Riders are then taken up the first 75.5 foot tall lift hill and into the first coaster portions of the coaster. Riders take the curved plunge and back up into a small brake run followed by a larger, drawn out curve brazing the sea of grass below; taking riders back up into another brake run. Poseidon then dives into a trench, through a curve and another small drop into the lake. Riders then meander the lake, taking in the ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, and the modern Greek buildings adjacent to them. After riders feel safe, Poseidon then takes riders on another 65.6 foot tall lift hill into the air. A curve leads into the straight drop into a cave below the monorail, leading into an airtime hill up and back down into the final splashdown. Riders, again, meander the lake and back into Poseidon’s station. This coaster is most notable for it’s incredible theming, but also its incredible lights for the waterfall at the final splashdown; thus keeping the final splashdown as a focal point of the coaster even at night. If you are looking for the perfect blend of a well themed water ride, and the thrills of a coaster, challenge Poseidon, and feel his wrath. |
