|
Everland is South Korea’s largest and most visited theme park. In 1988 South Korea hosted the summer olympics and built many facilities for the athletic events and tourists. Everland built Double Loop and Corkscrews, an Arrow Dynamics custom looper for the games. Double Loop and Corkscrews was later renamed Rolling X-Train for the 2004 season, and the original Arrow trains were replaced with the Vekoma sideless trains as well. In 2010 it got a new color scheme, the ride debuted with pink track and white supports, but the new paint job changed to white track and grey supports. The layout is fairly compact and is nestled into a hillbank covered with evergreens.
The ride experience begins with a U-turn out of the station that lines the track up with the 98.5 foot tall lift hill. The train crawls up the hill filling riders with anticipation. At the top there is a pre drop U-turn giving riders a chance to take in the view before charging down the main drop at 44 MPH. The train immediately enters a double loop and then the track goes back up and banks to the right. After the turn the train flips going into a double corkscrew maneuver. The final element is a tight helix that spins riders around to the brake run. The train returns to the station completing its 2,296 foot long circuit. |
