Located in Anaheim, California, Disneyland is a family get away! In 1955 Disney opened its first park that is now known as the Happiest Place on Earth! Disneyland is a family theme park that has continued to grow over the years. In 1977 Disneyland opened their family classic that became known as Space Mountain.
Space Mountain opened in 1977 at Disneyland in the Tomorrow Land section of the park. The ride is located inside a giant show-building designed to look like a mountain. When the ride opened it was the second roller coaster within the Disneyland theme park. Space Mountain is an indoor family roller coaster that takes its guests on a journey through space! On Space Mountain families board roller coaster cars that look like Space Ships. The train then leaves the station and enters a pre-show element where their is lighting and sound effects.Next, the ride turns right and goes up a small hill then takes a few turns in a level tunnel that has cool lighting and sound effects. The ride then heads up another lift hill. After the ride leaves the lift hill it goes through some hill and curbs. This ride features no big drops at all. In 2005 Space Mountain was entirely rebuilt to preserve the experience for the next generation of the family. Space Mountain is a ride the entire family can enjoy together! |
