Specific Type: Euro-Fighter
|
The spring of 2018 marked an event that has not happened for awhile at Darien Lake, fans lined up for a new roller coaster. A full decade after their last coaster Darien Lake introduced Tantrum a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. Tantrum was constructed on the former site of Thunder Rapids log flume. This marks the first coaster built by the park since becoming an orphan of Six Flags, so this is a welcome addition for western New Yorkers and visitors to the Buffalo area.
The ride experience begins with a vertical climb to the top of the 100 foot tall lift. From there the track dives down at a beyond vertical 97 degrees. At the bottom the guests are rolling along at 52 MPH. The guest are immediately tossing into their first inversion an immelman. The track stays up high as riders pass the lift and then it twists and dives back down to the ground. The track lead back past the lift and tilts riders to the right and then up into and overbanked turn to the left. The track leads riders back down and into the final element a tilted loop, that spits out the car onto the brake run. The only question is did you throw a tantrum, or did Tantrum throw you? |
