Silver Dollar City, located in Branson Missouri, has always been known for their themed thrill rides and attractions. This park has a unique layout as the region is filled with steep terrain and crags that creates stunning coaster layouts for all of their coasters. This use of in depth theming and their craggy region has created the Silver Dollar City touch on every coaster, Time Traveler being one of them. Time Traveler, built by Mack Rides, is a XTREME Spinning Launched coaster designed with the park’s terrain in mind while giving riders an immersive western steampunk theme. The story being that Charles Henry inherited his family’s clock factory business; however mysterious things have been happening around his factory. This being his experiments in time travel to become a Jules Vernian Time Traveler. Do you dare to travel through time?
Riders begin by entering the queue line up to the barn like station looming over a steep hill. As riders sit down, they are seated in either a forwards or backwards seat and are strapped into the steampunk car. As Time Traveler exits the station, it hits a small brake before diving 90 feet down the hill reaching speeds up to 50.3 mph. Time Traveler flares out then ascends right into a Dive Loop before curving left, then another curve right. While spinning, riders then brake into one of two LSM Launch sequences that will take riders to speeds up to 47 mph. Time Traveler whisks riders away into an upwards curved hill before plunging back down left into the 95 foot tall vertical loop. Continuing to spin, riders ascend left before dropping right into another drop along the terrain into the Zero-G-Roll. Time Traveler then curves up left again before descending a hill into the second LSM Launch sequence. Riders rush out into a steep right hand curve hill that drops riders back down into another left hand turn rise before hitting the final brake run. Time Traveler is different from most traditional spinning coasters as it is a controlled spin that could still deliver a spinning experience and a fun family experience.
