Wild Lightnin'
Specific Type: Wild Mouse
|
Wild Lighnin’ is a L&T Systems designed wild mouse coaster located at Lake Winnie Amusement Park in Rossville, GA, just outside of Chattanooga, TN. It is the second coaster at the park, alongside Cannon Ball Roller Coaster. Each car holds up to 4 riders for the 1:08 minute long ride, being thrown by hairpin turns throughout
The coaster was built as a tribute to the former Mad Mouse that stood in the same location. It was built as “Wild Thing” in 2001 and had it’s name changed to Wild Lightnin’ in 2002. The track layout is very similar to its predecessor and features several 90 degree hairpin turns, that can be very intense. The ride starts off with a right turn after loading, onto a chain driven lift hill. Once at the top, the car will take a slight drop into a turn to the right. Then, riders feel as if they are going out over Lake Winnepesaukah before being thrown through the next turn, heading back towards the lift hill. Riders will zig towards the lake and zag towards the park 2 more times before experiencing the first big drop of the ride. After reaching the bottom of the hill riders shoot back up into another turn taking riders back the direction they just came from. After going through a dip and another turn, the ride goes through a series of 2 bunny hops. Lastly comes the last turn into 1 more bunny hop then the final brake run. |
