Along the shores of Thorpe Park’s “Island Like No Other,” guests can explore nine areas of excitement while they venture through the various attractions of roller coasters, water ride and even a 4D cinema. While exploring the unearthed Atlantean civilization of the Lost City, they can find thrill as they zoom past the disco-lights and lasers inside the dark pyramid of the junior X coaster. Previously known as X:\ No Way Out from 1996-2012, X was rethemed from its original, completely dark, computer-gone-haywire theme in 2013. The ride now travels forward instead of backwards, has “rave” music playing during the journey, and has flashing lights that illuminate the dark interior of the pyramid.
While waiting for their turn to ride, guests enter the pyramid and travel through a series of long and narrow corridor with neon lights and lasers in the ceiling. Loud rave music plays throughout waiting areas. After waiting for their turn, riders enter the station and board the train. The train then departs and makes a tight right bend that leads up onto the lift hill. After ascending to the top, the train zooms down at 28mph. Throughout the ride there are three mid-ride brake runs where the train stops for a few seconds before continuing. Also, there are bright multi-coloured disco lights and laser effects that accompany the same rave music that was heard while waiting. At the end of the 180 second journey, guests depart at a different station to the one that they boarded at. Manufactured by Vekoma, X is a family friendly ride that is not to be missed when planning your trip to Thorpe Park. Its minimum height of 1 meter allows families to ride together. |
