The park is the largest theme park and multi-park facility in the southern hemisphere. The park is huge as it covers over 5 sq miles of area. Joao Batista Sergio Murad, better known as Beto Carrero, had a vivid imagination as a child growing up. He grew up in a poor family raising animals on a farm in Sao Paulo, Brazil and never had many things to speak of other than his strange ideas. He took the inspiration for the park from a cowboy called Beto Carrero. He used these ideas to come up with the hub of the biggest dream imaginable. He wanted to build a theme park that would appeal to everyone.

The park was built and completed in 1991 and when it was opened there were seven distinct themed areas for guests to go through. Each area is themed after something unique to the area in which its placed and there are numerous activities and attractions strung out through all of the areas. One cannot miss the humongous Castle at the front which is the largest building in the park. One of the best areas is the Animals area which includes the zoo, a children’s area and a roller coaster named DumDum. There are two themed areas named after actual places with the German Village and the Old West with great shows and food that is out of this world.

The park features a Fantasy Land that is full of mystical creatures, giants, and a tribute to the Arab community. There is a railroad that runs through the area that is a star attraction for the park as well. Today the park has over 100 rides and attractions throughout the park. Many go there and stay a week and still cannot get to everything they want to do. There are four roller coasters including FireWhip which is a Vekoma SLC with 5 inversions.
