The former chief financial officer of Silverwood Theme Park has been sentenced to up to 14 years in prison for embezzling thousands of dollars from the northern Idaho amusement park. Christopher A. Wyatt, 43, was sentenced in 1st District Court on Tuesday. Judge Scott Wayman said Wyatt will be eligible for parole after serving at least 3 years. Wyatt pleaded guilty last year to two counts of grand theft for stealing more than $160,000. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed three additional charges. FULL STORY As expected, social media erupted with Disney fans jumping all over the provocative headline. But Brady was just making a point that I and many others have made before — that Disney's $100-plus-per-day top line price is not out of line with other major entertainment and leisure options, including lift tickets, live theater and concerts. If you spend the whole day at the park and navigate it well, you easily can get more than your money's worth at Disneyland or Walt Disney World.
But everyone has their own value for what their money is worth. And for many families, $100 per person is just way too much to consider paying for a day's entertainment. To be fair, with multi-day prices and annual passes, an overwhelming majority of Disney visitors are not paying anywhere near $100 a day for their theme park tickets. But when you throw in parking, food, drinks, souvenirs and various upsells, many do end up spending that kind of cash anyway. FULL STORY SANDUSKY, OH

Our new “Three-Legged Race” poster features Mickey and Pete teaming up for a big race after Minnie chooses to partner with Daisy. As you can see in the cartoon video short, Mickey wants to win “fair and square” but not every racer agrees with that approach, including Pete! FULL STORY Shares of Six Flags Entertainment Corp. plummeted Friday toward their biggest-ever one-day decline after the theme park operator warned of a fourth-quarter revenue shortfall and said its partner in China has defaulted on its agreements.
The news prompted Janney Montgomery Scott analyst Tyler Batory to abandon his bullish stance on Six Flags’ stock, saying the announcements may put the relatively high dividend at risk. The company disclosed in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it expects fourth-quarter revenue to be $8 million to $10 million less than the year-ago period, when the company recorded revenue of $269.5 million. The FactSet consensus, at the time of the filing, was for 6.0% increase to $285.8 million. FULL STORY ELYSBURG, PA
